December 3, 2020 Paying Attention

Two small children baking

tuesday morning as we drive to school,

the moon shone almost as big and brightly as the sun.

both kids noticed her

and then noticed all the fast cars. i just listened as they wondered out loud.

"do you think they see the moon?"

"why are they driving so fast?

"they must be in a rush to get somewhere important, and they don't see how beautiful the moon looks this morning."

"do you think they also miss how beautiful this life and the world and all of these things are, because they are going so fast?"

"should we tell them to slow down?" how do we tell them?

"we just keep paying attention, slow and steady"
